Cello

The cello is much larger than the violin and viola.  The cello has the widest range of pitches.  It can be played to sound like a violin or bass.  Sound is created when the strings are plucked or bowed causing them to vibrate.

Physical Characteristics   

The cello is held by resting the instrument between your knees and it is supported by the end pin which extends to the floor.  The cello is too big to rest under your chin.
